lately

Isla is getting too used to sleeping in our bed....

"ok now smile with your eyes open ok?"

" ok now close your mouth but keep your eyes open!"

: )

these winter days require some creative indoor acvtivites

we got this little fairy making kit, they are so cute and tiny! more for me I guess haha!

when we first got back from Florida, the only way I could get Isla to rest and take a nap was to go on a drive so I would end up at the beach and crochet for a while.

 getting an Aurora princess doll

We ate some really yummy food while in Florida, our favorite was this cuban restaurant, it was sooo delicious.

I went to Harry Potter World by myself, since there wasn't much for Isla to see there and she was super over stimilated and exhausted.

butterbeer. it was a butterscotch flavored slushy with butterscotch cream on top, pretty yummy.

there was a ride in the castle that was so much fun, basically you feel like you are flying around the castle for real!! I got a little dizzy but loved every minute and walked out just so shocked at how awesome it was!

More Florida

We went to Animal kingdom and had a really nice day, it was perfect weather...we went on a safari ride, saw a couple bird shows, a Lion King show, a parade, petting zoo and saw lots of Disney characters......

Florida

a few weeks ago we went to Orlando. We probably should have waited until after this trip to potty train Isla bc she was already a bit tired before we even got there, due to waking up frantically multiple times per night for a week leading up to this (she is still behaving odd at night, crawling out of her crib for the first time and comes looking for us and sleeps in our bed now, uh oh).

We loved the weather sooo much and enjoyed lots of swimming. We all loved it but I think Isla loved it the most.

The first day there we just hung out and swam and checked out the downtown disney area...here you can see Isla is already over-stimulated/tired to pieces and got a new Woody toy.  The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom....

The first thing we did was go on the "Its a small world" ride and it was so fun and she loved it. But then Steve insisted we take her on Splash Mountain....I don't know why I allowed this to happen but it was bad, she was crying a lot and said NO MORE RIDES the rest of the time....just because your 3 year old is as tall as a 4 year old and is therefore allowed on the ride, doesn't mean you should take them on it!

By far the best part of that day was seeing Cinderella, Belle and Aurora. It was set up to feel very private, no other kids were in the room, and the princesses were SO sweet to Isla, just showering her with attention and compliments and just chatting together. Isla was so stunned. I may have shed a tear. Isla has loved these princesses for a long time!

Isla decided to sit down and spread her skirt out like a princess herself. She could have stayed with them much longer I think!

I don't know if I was just emotional or what but I may have shed ANOTHER tear when this adorable crewcuts sweater of Isla's got lost. : (

at the end of the day, they had a parade and then a show with all of the characters singing and dancing  but when the bad witch from Sleeping Beauty came out, Isla started crying and was scared and kept saying "we have to get out of here!" sooo we did not make until the firework show :)
